Installation Instructions for Presto Pressure Cooker Sealing Ring and Overpressure Plug

To replace the used sealing ring and overpressure plug on your Presto pressure cooker, follow these simple steps:

1. Remove the old sealing ring and overpressure plug. Thoroughly clean the sealing ring groove and overpressure plug hole to ensure they are free of any food or foreign material.
2. Wash the new sealing ring and overpressure plug in warm soapy water, then dry thoroughly before installation.
3. Install the sealing ring by working it into the cover one small section at a time, ensuring it is fully in place under the stop tab and lock pin on the inside rim of the cover. You can apply a light coating of cooking oil on the body lugs and sealing ring underside for easier opening and closing.
4. Install the overpressure plug by pushing the side marked "TOP" into the opening from the underside of the cover. The indented portion of the plug should be visible from beneath the cover.
5. When putting the cover on the pressure cooker body, press down on the opposite side of the handle to compress the sealing ring and lock the cover in place. Open and close the cover several times to ensure a proper fit.
