The pressure canner sealing ring fits snugly around the inside rim of the cover, creating a tight seal between the cover and the body of the pressure canner while canning and cooking. To properly install the sealing ring, divide it into four small sections - top, bottom, left, and right - and work each section into the groove of the cover until it is securely in place. Once the sealing ring is in position, place the cover onto the cooker body and press down firmly on the top center with one hand. Open and close the cover several times to ensure it is properly installed.
